Slice, Sight & Startups: What’s Hot in Boston This Week

This week is shaping up to be a classic Boston experience—featuring pizza festivals, biotech networking, and inclusive art experiences.

Hey there,

Welcome back to The Beantown Beacon—your go-to guide for everything happening in and around Boston.

This week, we’re serving up a full spread of events that hit every note: from piping-hot slices to high-stakes networking at a major life sciences conference, and even a hands-on art experience at the MFA that’s as meaningful as it is unique. Whether you're here for the food, the business, or the culture, we've got your weekend plans covered.

Let’s dive in.

WHAT’S GOING ON THIS WEEK

Boston Pizza Festival

Location: City Hall Plaza, Boston, MA
Date: June 21–22, 2025, 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Indulge in slices from over 30 top pizzerias at this much-anticipated annual festival in the heart of Boston. Savor everything from classic margherita to bold, creative toppings—including vegan and gluten-free options that don’t skimp on flavor. With live music, family-friendly games, and a festive atmosphere, it’s the perfect weekend event for foodies, families, and anyone who believes pizza is its own food group.

Hawaiian Chicken PizzaSmoked

RESI Boston June Conference

Location: Westin Copley Place, Boston, MA
Date: June 16, 2025, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Connect with early-stage investors, entrepreneurs, and startups in the life sciences sector at this dynamic hybrid conference. Dive into expert-led panels covering the latest industry trends, and take advantage of structured one-on-one meetings designed to spark partnerships and funding opportunities. Whether you're looking to pitch, invest, or explore innovation, this event provides a powerful platform to expand your network and increase your impact.

Feeling for Form Tour at MFA

Location: Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, MA
Date: June 17, 2025, 1:30 PM

Explore art through touch in this thoughtfully guided tour, specially designed for visitors who are blind or have low vision (but also suitable for those who are not visually impaired). Led by trained facilitators, the experience enhances accessibility by allowing participants to engage directly with selected works through tactile exploration and rich verbal descriptions. It’s an inclusive opportunity to connect with the museum’s collections in a way that is both immersive and meaningful.

TIP FOR YOUR WEEK

If you're driving in Boston and someone lets you merge, immediately buy a lottery ticket—that kind of generosity only happens once a decade. And remember: using your turn signal here is less about alerting others and more about preserving tradition. Stay alert, stay caffeinated, and may your parallel parking be ever in your favor.

HOW MANY HOME RUNS?

Last week, we issued a poll regarding the Red Sox Versus The New York Yankees to see how many home runs would take place. You voted, and guess what? 76% of you were correct: there were seven total home runs, five by the Red Sox and two by the Yankees.

FUN FACT: The average number of home runs in any MLB game is 2-3. This was sincerely an epic game, and we hope you didn’t miss it!
